The app and your license to use it
MacWriteBuddy is proprietary software owned by PostMCP AI. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download it and use it on your own Macs. Fixing spelling and grammar is free, with no time limit.
You may not resell, redistribute, decompile, reverse engineer, or modify the app, or work around its license checks, except where the law expressly allows it. Download MacWriteBuddy only from macwritebuddy.com; copies from anywhere else aren’t supported.
MacWriteBuddy Pro
MacWriteBuddy Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it doesn’t expire. It unlocks the Pro features of the app for the person who bought it, on up to three Macs at a time; Settings › License shows how many are in use. To move Pro to another Mac, choose Remove License on the Mac you no longer use.
Your license key is personal, so please don’t share or publish it. We may turn off a key that has been shared publicly, used on more Macs than it allows, or bought with a payment that was reversed.
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, which handles your payment details and sends your receipt. Prices are shown on this site and may change; a change never affects a license you’ve already bought.
Refunds
If something’s wrong with your purchase, write to us from macwritebuddy.com/support or reply to your license email, and we’ll look at your request individually. A refunded license is switched off. Nothing here limits refund rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.
AI models and providers
You choose the model that does the writing. Open models you download from the built-in list come from Hugging Face and are covered by their own licenses. Apple Intelligence is covered by Apple’s terms.
If you connect a cloud provider, you use your own account and API key, under that provider’s terms, policies, and prices. You’re responsible for that account and what it’s charged; we add no markup and never see the bill.
Your writing
Your writing stays yours. We claim no rights to it, and MacWriteBuddy never sends it to us (our privacy policy explains exactly where it goes).
AI models make mistakes, and a rewrite can change your meaning. That’s why MacWriteBuddy shows a preview before it replaces anything, and why ⌘Z undoes a replacement. Check the result before you send it; you’re responsible for what you send.
Fair use
Don’t use MacWriteBuddy, or this website’s forms, to break the law, to harm others, or to break the rules of the AI provider you connect.
Warranty and liability
MacWriteBuddy is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, PostMCP AI isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for MacWriteBuddy Pro. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.
Updates and changes
MacWriteBuddy checks for new versions and lets you know when one is ready, and you can always download the newest version from this site. We may update these terms; when we do, the date at the top of this page changes, and using MacWriteBuddy after a change means you accept it.
